How to teach an old dog new tricks...

A five-day residency at St Cuthbert Mayne School, Torquay, in association with 'Aimhigher Peninsula Project'....

In the good old days of the twentieth century, schools used to be wide open to the world – none of these electronic thingamyjigs everywhere – and many people remember a time when someone shouted excitedly ‘Miss!’ or ‘Sir! There’s a dog in the corridor!’ It is a moment you never forget, something unusual that makes you look and notice.

With ten fantastic students from Year 9 and 10, we tried to create that sense of surprise and wonder, by building an interactive exhibition, based around the themes of gifts, archives and identity.
