Welcome! The Clockwork Moth are a fluid arts collective, led by artists Charlie and Victoria Narewski Scullion, sometimes working on individual projects, sometimes both together, often with lots of other people. The Clockwork Moth is a name for our creative adventures, the story of how our life and our dreaming world blend together.
We are married and live on Dartmoor with our two children, Tolly, 6, and Gretel, 3, and Pan the Dog, 9. We are best known for our dark comic shadow-puppetry shows which have toured the UK for the last eight years. We are currently touring Hansel & Gretel a new shadow-puppet play, commissioned by The National Trust's Wray Castle. Charlie is creating a huge-scale 25-window installation at Torre Abbey this Christmas, and working on a super-simplistic shadow show for very young children. We are both passionate gardeners and tend a beautiful allotment - we are both embarking on a Practical Horticulture course this year, and Charlie is a gardener at Buckfast Abbey. We are interested in creating amazing community gardens that benefit wildlife and people. Our work is inspired by the natural world, flora and fauna, science, magic, history, family, stories. We have been parents for the last 5 years. Charlie also collaborates with Dartmoor Skies, a brilliant astronomy education charity, and the fabulous Creation Myth Puppets, who undertake epic puppetry residencies with young people.
